Terms and Conditions
Walthamstow
Party hire costs £145 (£185 on Bank Holidays) for the indoor space. You can hire our outdoor play area (including play equipment) for a £45 fee.
The garden can be hired at short notice (minimum 24 hours notice) prior to your party, no refunds will be given.
We take a £50 security deposit; all fees and deposit are payable at the time of booking. Additional hours can be booked at £45 per hour.
You have to be a member of the Toy Library to hire the venue. Annual membership costs £15.
Running over the agreed booking slot or use of the outdoor play area, without prior notice, will result in the forfeit of the £50 deposit.
All party rubbish must be removed from the site, as we do not have storage facilities. You must take your rubbish home with your and not dispose of it in our indoor or outdoor bins.
The £50 deposit is returned 1-2 weeks after the party if no expenses have been incurred, i.e. damage to contents or the building, running over time, not removing party rubbish or the centre has been left untidy.
The time allowed for the party is three hours, this includes half an hour to set up and half an hour to allow for clearing away. You are responsible for clearing away left over refreshments, decorations, personal belongings, wiping kitchen surfaces, cleaning the tables and chairs and sweeping the floors. Cleaning materials/equipment will be provided.
Party organisers must provide their own refreshments.
A member of staff will be available to unlock the building at the start of the party and lock up at the end and will remain on the premises during the party.
The car park gates will be open for 5 minutes after the booking time; a delay in leaving the car park will incur additional charges and may result in the loss of your deposit.
No smoking is allowed on the Walthamstow Toy Library premises, including the car park.
The cancellation policy for party bookings are as follows:
We keep the £50 deposit to cover admin costs and loss of booking
4 weeks’ notice: £145 party fee is refunded
3 weeks’ notice: 50% of the party fee is payable
2 weeks’ notice: 75% of the party fee is payable
1 weeks’ notice: Full party fee payable
Any queries / complaints or damage should be reported to the member of staff at the end of the party.

A member of staff will let you in at the start of your party, they will stay and work in the office.

Yes, do bring your own food and drink, as we do not provide this service. We are also happy for you to serve alcohol to your guests. We trust you will be sensible!

Feel free to use our cups, plates, bowls etc. We also have a fridge with a small freezer, kettle, hot water urn, microwave and coffee machine. There is no oven. Please do not use our tea, coffee or milk.

We have a variety of plates and dishes that you are welcome to use for serving; we also have plastic cups and plates for children and mugs for tea and coffee.

We recommend that you bring your own portable speaker, however there is an iPod dock available. You will need to bring your own lead to connect your iPod/phone etc.

You get your deposit back via BACS, roughly one week after your party. Please ensure that you provide your account details when booking.

Yes, you have 30 minutes before and after to set up and clear away your party. If your party is booked from 2:30-5:30pm, your party will run from 3-5pm.

There is a small car park at our Somers Road site.

Yes, the Toy Library is accessible, including toilet facilities.

We suggest a maximum of 70 participants (children and adults).

We are happy for you to put decorations up as long as you remove them at the end of your party.

Yes, we have a list of contacts you might find useful.

No, only soft play equipment is available. If you would like additional toys you can hire up to three activities, as listed on the booking form. All toys are cleaned after each party.

Storage space is limited and our play sessions are busy; please bring everything with you on the day.

We pay our staff for the 3 hour party cover. If you require extra time we will charge £40 per hour.

We try to be as sustainable as possible. We also don’t have the storage facilities for large amounts of rubbish and we have to pay a company to remove rubbish which is costly.
